Take Courage in the Lord

Here I was at the scariest crossroads of my life. I was at work and had just gotten the call that our house had caught on fire. My mother was home and had been burned and they were flying her to Austell Georgia to the burn unit. We had lost all that was inside the house. I sat there shaking as I just didn’t know what to think. A very sweet friend from church and work was helping me get things together to go to my cousins and to encourage me spiritually. I then used my first dose of courage when I decided to drive to Georgia on my own. I had a nervous breakdown in 2013 and had not driven anywhere by myself since. You may ask where I got that courage? I found it the same place that Joshua from the Bible found it and that is in the Lord. Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV). It is so easy to give into the fear of the moment. But when we feel that rising up, we have to fight it with the Word of God. So I encourage you to reach way down and find that spot of courage. Hold fast to your faith in the One Who holds tightly to you!! You are a Fearless Fighter!!!
